Shift confirmation

Shift confirmation

What is shift confirmation?
Shift confirmation is a process whereby the person assigned the shift confirms that they have seen the shift allotment and are able to work those hours. Shift confirmation provides both the business and employees with a guarantee to work.

Why is shift confirmation important?
Having processes in place to confirm shifts is vitally important. Employers cannot take for granted that employees will accept every shift that they are given. Rather than assigning and forgetting, shift confirmation puts practices in place that safeguard the employer and employee.

When employees either verbally accept shifts or confirm through another process, employers have a commitment that the shift is being covered. If confirmation is not given, then employers know to look for another staff member in a timely manner.

How do businesses implement shift confirmation processes?
To make rostering and the associated processes more efficient and effective, there is software available that can utilise inputted data to both create rosters and inform employees of their shifts.

With Roubler’s rostering software, staff are notified of their shifts via the mobile app. Acting as one source of truth, the relevant shift information is literally in the palm of the employee’s hands and if they cannot provide shift confirmation they have the option to roster swap straight from their mobile too.
