International Women’s Day 2021

We’re celebrating International Women’s Day by sharing insights and advice from the women at Roubler who inspire us every day. We’ll be updating this post every day from 1-8 March to showcase their experiences of what it means to be women in tech.

  1. What’s your position at Roubler?
    Customer Support Advisor

  2. What does a typical day at Roubler look like for you?
My day consists of answering phone calls and emails from our clients who need support and assistance with their Roubler platform. I make sure they continuously have a great user experience.

  3. Why is promoting equality in the workplace important to you?
If everyone is doing their part and giving their best to strive for excellence, we should all receive the same amount of respect and praise in the workplace. When equality is called into question, that’s when businesses struggle to survive.

  4. What advice would you give your younger self?
Don’t rush, slow down and always do things with accuracy. Everything will work out for the best in the end.

  5. What words of wisdom do you have for a woman wanting to pursue a career in the software or tech industry?
Trust in yourself, be confident and be ready to take lots of chances. There’s still so much to discover about the tech industry, and we’re all learning more day-by-day.

  6. Who is your female role model, and why?
I admire all the women in the workforce who inspire and empower others to keep their heads up and work hard – despite the inequality they may face.

  1. What’s your position at Roubler?
    Head of Marketing

  2. What does a typical day at Roubler look like for you?
There is no average day! One moment I could be strategising with the leadership team, the next I could be deep in HubSpot setting up automations, organising a guest presenter for our next webinar, or taking my team out for coffee and cupcakes.

  3. Why is promoting equality in the workplace important to you?
To me, equality is synonymous with equal pay. In Australia, women still get paid 15% less than our male counterparts – even though we’re doing the same job, with the same qualifications, and the same level of experience. This is all despite hard evidence that closing the gender pay gap results in increased business earnings. What are we waiting for?

  4. What advice would you give your younger self?
Understand the kind of people you like to be around, the kind of work that interests you, and what your values are. Pursue the opportunities that tick all your boxes – forget the rest.

  5. What words of wisdom do you have for a woman wanting to pursue a career in the software or tech industry?
Go for it! Working in tech is incredibly rewarding. The pace of change is lightning-fast, particularly in marketing, and there’s always a new problem to solve or a new challenge to tackle.

  3. Why is promoting equality in the workplace important to you?
A lack of equality creates barriers to collaboration in the workplace. Good communication is key to workplace success and achieving common goals that keep the business thriving.
