M·A·C was established in Toronto when makeup artist and photographer, Frank Toskan and beauty salon owner, Frank Angelo brainstormed a makeup line. Frustrated because of the lack of colours that would shoot well with photography; their aim was to develop a studio line makeup line that would fulfill their professional needs.
In 1995, The Estée Lauder Companies purchased a percentage of M·A·C (acquiring the remaining shares in 1998), effectively extending the brand’s distribution across the globe. Freestanding stores and counters at the world’s leading retailers have since opened at a record pace.
M.A.C. now operates in 90 countries world-wide, including South Africa where they have multiple locations spread across stand-alone stores and concessions in larger department stores such as Edgars. Roubler now helps them manage their South African workforce, enabling them to create fully-costed rosters, securely capture time and attendance data and manage employee details.
“Since the implementation of Roubler in stores, it’s made life easier, simpler, and it’s easily accessible to the staff. Staff are able to know when they are rostered, what time they are working, and who they are working with. It’s made the application of leave simpler. It has given me more time to be on the floor and interact on a more personal basis.”
Caressa Naicker, Retail Store Manager – Mall of Africa, M.A.C (Estee Lauder)
“The workplace is becoming more and more demanding and therefore Estee Lauder brought in Roubler to assist us in managing these demands. The payroll department has been able to work more effectively and smarter, and in the first couple of months of implementation we were able to show a double-figured saving against our overtime line.”
Andrea Erasmus, Senior Payroll Manager – Estee Lauder Companies, South Africa.
“Each month we process timesheets for the M.A.C brand. Roubler’s user-friendly system has made processing timesheets more accurate and easier each month. Due to information being easily accessible, the HR department has noticed a reduction in timesheet-related queries due to information being easily accessible on the Roubler system.”
